Red-hot Villarreal can outgun Sociedad on the road
Villarreal have won three of their last four away games in the Primera Liga and can pick up where they left off when they visit Real Sociedad at the Reale Arena on Sunday. Back Marcelino Garcia Toral’s side to secure another win on the road.
They are six places above ninth-placed Real Sociedad in the table, with 13 points separating the two teams. The hosts have won four of their 13 games this season, while Villarreal sit third, having won nine of their 13 matches.
Villarreal are enjoying their best spell of the campaign, with four consecutive wins in the Primera Liga. They have won seven of their last nine league matches, the only blip being a 2-2 draw with Real Betis last month.
Villarreal are in fine form going forward, having scored at least twice in seven of their last nine league games. They have also found the net in 18 of their last 19 matches, and have scored two goals or more in five consecutive games.
Villarreal boast the best defence in the league, conceding just 11 goals in 13 games, but Real Sociedad have been struggling at the back lately, failing to keep out their opponents in seven straight games.
A 2-1 away win for Villarreal looks a decent correct-score bet. BTTS was a winning bet by half time when these teams last met in the Primera Liga in April, and two of Real Sociedad’s five defeats this season have been by a 2-1 scoreline.
