Werder Bremen should be backed to beat an out-of-form Cologne at Weserstadion on Saturday. The visitors are on a losing run of two straight away games and could be heading for another defeat.
The two sides are separated by just one point in the table, with ninth-placed Werder Bremen ahead of Cologne in tenth. Both teams have won four games this season, but the hosts have three draws to the visitors’ two.
Cologne could not break their losing habit last time, going down 4-3 at home to Eintracht Frankfurt in a tightly contested game last weekend. Cologne were priced at 19/10 to win the game, but Eintracht created enough chances to have won by a wider margin.
Werder Bremen have momentum on their side, having won their last three home games in the Bundesliga. They have lost just one of their last nine matches at home in the league and have sustained just one defeat in their last nine home games against Cologne.
Backing Cologne’s opponents during their current run of three defeats in four Bundesliga games would have resulted in a profit of 1.70 units.
