Real Madrid have won 13 of their 16 games in all competitions this season
Elche have scored in all but two of their 12 league matches
Five of Real’s last seven league games have gone over 2.5 goals
Los Blancos looking to bounce back
Elche are unbeaten at home this season but that run looks set to come to an end when they host Real Madrid, who will be desperate to get back on the winning trail after a pair of disappointing results before the international break.
Los Blancos were beaten 1-0 by Liverpool in the Champions League before being held to a goalless draw by Rayo Vallecano and Xabi Alonso’s side need to bounce back if they are to keep up the pace in a typically competitive La Liga title race.
Real had won 13 of their 14 games before those two results and are as short as 2-5 to get the away win against an Elche side who have won just three of their 12 league games.
Elche could get on the scoresheet
The hosts have kept things relatively tight at the back, they have the best defensive record in the bottom half, but they may struggle to contain the away team’s forward line.
There have been over 2.5 goals in five of Real Madrid’s last seven La Liga matches and a repeat of that looks likely given the attacking talents on display in this one.
Elche have only failed to score in two of their 12 league games and they could get on the scoresheet, albeit in defeat. They have lost twice by a 3-1 scoreline this season and a repeat could be on the cards.
