Gills looking to strengthen promotion bid
Gillingham host Crawley in the late kick off in League Two on Saturday in a clash between two teams at the opposite ends of the table.
The Gills sit inside the plat-off places, while Crawley are two points clear of danger in 19th.
The Reds are the team in the better form as they have won their last two league outings, while Gillingham ended a seven-game winless run across all competitions by beating Bristol Rovers in their last league game.
Crawley may be the form team, just, in this fixture but their results on the road have been poor. Crawley have lost five of their seven trips (W1, D1) and have managed just four goals across those games, so with home advantage Gillingham look well placed to claim maximum points and make it back-to-back league wins.
Scott Lindsey’s visitors may have a poor scoring record on the road but they can at least get on the scoresheet at Priestfield. The Gills have conceded in each of their last four home games and have just one clean sheet in their last 10 games overall, so a 2-1 win for the hosts has a chance.
Gillingham have shared the goals around this season and no player has scored more than three goals in total. Josh Andrews is among that trio and he looks the best contender for an anytime effort after his strike against Salford in Gillingham’s last home fixture.
