Grimsby Backed to Sink Sloppy Chesterfield
Grimsby should be backed to get a home win over Chesterfield on Saturday. The visitors have struggled at the back this season and that could be their downfall here.
Grimsby are fifth in League Two and Chesterfield are tenth, but the two sides are separated by just one point. Both teams have won more games than they’ve lost this season, with Grimsby on seven wins and Chesterfield on six.
The visitors are out of form. Chesterfield have not won in three League Two games and have failed to win five of their last six away games.
It would be no surprise to see the home side find the net, with Grimsby having scored at least twice in four of their last six League Two games. No team has more goals in the division this season than their 29 in 15 games.
Grimsby have been impressive defensively at home this season, conceding just six goals in seven League Two games, while Chesterfield have been disappointing away from home, shipping 15 goals in seven road games – an average of 2.14 goals per game.
A narrow 1-0 victory for Grimsby looks the most likely outcome in the correct-score market. Three of Chesterfield’s last four League Two games have ended with under 2.5 goals and this game could also go under the goals.
