Paixao has been impressive in Europe
Atalanta have a solid pedigree in Europe — they overcame Marseille in the semi-finals of the Europa League en route to winning that competition two years ago and finished ninth in the league phase in last season’s Champions League.
But their current form suggests they’ll struggle to win this. The Italian side have failed to lead in any of their last six games and could not score in three of them.
Marseille’s in-form attackers, such as Igor Paixao and Mason Greenwood, should get them over the line here. Paixao has scored three goals in two Champions League starts and a sub appearance this season and looks likely to extend that streak against a shaky Atalanta backline.
