Another high-scoring clash for pair
Take both teams to find the net in Saturday’s League One clash between Bradford and Barnsley at Valley Parade. The visitors played out a 2-2 draw with Wycombe in their last league game two weeks ago and there is no reason to suggest that they won’t be involved in another goalfest here.
Bradford are second in League One, seven places above Barnsley, with both teams having won more games than they’ve lost this season. The hosts have seven wins from their 11 games, while the visitors have five.
Bradford have won four of their last six League One games and have enjoyed five straight successes at home. Barnsley, who have recorded four victories in the last six head-to-heads, have gone three games without winning.
Bradford would have been disappointed to only get a 2-2 draw two weeks ago with an out-of-form Rotherham side. They were priced as 21/20 favourites to win, but were unable to reward their backers. The game kept up the recent trend of matches with both teams scoring.
Both teams are struggling defensively. Bradford have failed to keep a clean sheet in nine of their last 11 League One games and Barnsley have gone six games without recording a shutout.
No team has more League One goals this season than Bradford’s 20 in 11 games, and they have scored two goals or more in seven of those matches. Barnsley have also been prolific going forward, scoring three goals or more in four of their ten league games.
Bradford may be able to edge out Barnsley in a closely-fought contest, with a 2-1 home win the correct-score pick. Both teams have scored in nine of Bradford’s last 11 League One matches and five of their seven victories this season have been by one goal.
