Chesterfield to record a comfortable win
Chesterfield can be backed to win at home to Newport in League Two on Saturday.
They are sixth in League Two, having won four, drawn three and lost two of their nine games this season, while Newport are 22nd with one win, two draws and six defeats.
Chesterfield are in good form at home, having gone unbeaten in their last 11 League Two games at home. They have not lost in any of their four home games so far this season.
The home attack is a real threat. Chesterfield have scored two or more goals in five of their nine League Two games this season.
Backing Newport when they have been underdogs this season would have resulted in a 3.50-unit loss, with just one win from their nine games as an underdog. The visitors’ recent results do not inspire confidence. Newport have failed to win nine of their last ten League Two away games, and six of their last seven matches in the division have ended in defeat.
The visitors are looking vulnerable at the back. Newport have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 11 League Two games and have conceded on each of their last five road trips. They have yet to keep a clean sheet after nine games in the league.
A 2-0 win for Chesterfield looks the best correct-score bet. Two of Newport’s six defeats this season have been by a two-goal margin and two of Chesterfield’s four wins have also come by a two-goal margin.
There could also be better value to be had in taking Chesterfield minus one on the handicap for those who are not interested in the short odds for a home win.
