Bournemouth can make a bit of history
Bournemouth never managed to win as the away side against Leeds United but they may be able to end that run when these sides clash at Elland Road on Saturday.
The Cherries have lost all of their eight previous trips to this part of West Yorkshire, stretching back to an FA Cup tie as Bournemouth and Boscombe Athletic way back in 1939, but they are clearly the form side here. Andoni Iraola’s side lost their season opener at Liverpool but have three wins and a draw in four games since – and they have conceded just once during that run.
Leeds’ 3-1 win at Wolves last time out suggests they should have enough quality to avoid an immediate return to the Championship, or at least shows they can be competitive, but Bournemouth are a strong side and the visitors have enough quality to come away with the points.
Leeds can get on the scoresheet
Leeds failed to score in three successive games in the league before their win at Molineux but they should provide a test for the Cherries.
The hosts are unbeaten in nine at home across all competitions in a run stretching back to last season and only Newcastle have kept a clean sheet at Elland Road during that period. Bournemouth have conceded in 10 of their last 12 Premier League away games so goals at both ends looks a distinct possibility, and as this game is expected to be fairly close a 2-1 away win is the correct score pick.
Antoine Semenyo has made a strong start to the season with three goals in five Premier League games. The Ghana international is averaging an impressive 2.6 shots per-game so he should get a few chances on Saturday and he is the standout candidate for an anytime effort at Elland Road.
