Kieran McKenna’s Ipswich can shake their slow start to the season when they return from the international break on Friday night. The Tractor Boys host Sheffield United in what should have been a key promotion clash, but the pair head into the weekend in the bottom five.
Ruben Selles has made a nightmare start since succeeding Chris Wilder, as his Sheffield United side have lost all five games they’ve played so far this term.
The Blades are rock bottom of the Championship, while they have lost to nil in each of their previous three matches. Selles was already under pressure before a ball was kicked after replacing fan-favourite Wilder. The Spaniard has been tasked with bedding in their data-led summer signings into Wilder’s squad, while overhauling their style of play.
Ipswich’s issues should be easier to overcome. The Tractor Boys haven’t had the results their performances have merited, with the club record the third-highest Expected Goals tally, while they sit fourth in the Expected Points table. With little sign of improvement for the Blades, back the hosts to secure their first win of the campaign.
