Croatia are second in their group, but there’s little doubt they’ve been the strongest side so far. The 2022 World Cup semi-finalists have won all three games in qualifying for the next tournament, including a 5-1 hammering of group leaders the Czech Republic.
Croatia have scored 13 times across their three victories, while they’ve recorded an impressive 12.1 Expected Goals in those games. Opponents Montenegro are three points back in third, but this doesn’t look like an opportunity for them to close the gap.
The visitors have lost 2-0 to the Czechs in their previous two qualifiers, while they recorded a 2-2 draw at home to Armenia in between. Montenegro lost five of their six Nations League games late last year, including four defeats to nil.
Croatia’s great form in front of goal suggests they can put the visitors to the sword. In 2025 they’ve beaten France 2-0 at home alongside that comprehensive win over the Czechs, so back them to clear a -1 handicap against Montenegro.
