Tight Contest Expected as Barnet Host Struggling Shrewsbury
Goals could be at a premium when Barnet host Shrewsbury at The Hive on Saturday, and under 2.5 goals looks the best bet. No League Two side has played more games with under 2.5 goals this season than Barnet’s five.
Shrewsbury are bottom of the league with no wins so far, while Barnet, who were promoted last season, are 15th with two wins and three defeats. Both teams have lost more games than they’ve won this season.
Barnet’s recent League Two results have been a mixed bag, with two wins, one draw and three defeats in their last six outings. Shrewsbury have enjoyed two successive league wins over Barnet.
Barnet came back from a goal down to share a 1-1 draw with Colchester in their last League Two outing and the game kept up their recent trend for matches with under 2.5 goals. Barnet left it late to equalise through Danny Collinge in the 90th minute. They had their chances, but failed to make the most of them and were priced at 19/20 to win. Notably, 80% of their goals this season have come after half-time.
It could be hard to separate these two sides, with the 1-1 draw looking a decent correct-score bet. Barnet drew 1-1 against Colchester in their last League Two game and this encounter could end up the same way.
