Adi Hutter’s side have hit form in recent weeks and earned their third win in four league games when beating local rivals Nice 2-1 in the derby last Friday.
Although they are one of the youngest squads in France’s top-flight, Monaco have put in some mature displays recently. They showed plenty of fight and no lack of belief in turning around their fortunes against Les Aiglons.
So, they should be able to handle what the oldest squad in Ligue 1, Brest, throw at them on Saturday. Eric Roy’s side earned their second win in three when beating Toulouse 4-2 away last weekend.
Brest are stretched because of injuries
Brest raced into a 3-0 first-half lead before Toulouse got back into it, but the game could have been very different if the home side had been awarded a pretty clear penalty in the early stages.
Brest have won four, drawn two and lost only to leaders PSG in their last seven home league games while Monaco have failed to win seven of their last eight Ligue 1 away matches, but the visitors are still worth backing at a shade of odds on.
That is because Brest will be without seven injured players: Jordan Amavi, Soumaila Coulibaly, Jonas Martin, Justin Bourgault, Brendan Chardonnet, Bradley Locko and Ibrahim Salah – although Massadio Haidara and Hugo Magnetti are back from domestic bans.
