Charlotte can add to Toronto troubles
Take Charlotte to beat an out-of-form Toronto on Sunday. The hosts have lost three in a row at home and five of their last six home games in the MLS.
Toronto are 14th in the Eastern Conference with three wins and nine losses, while Charlotte are in ninth place, having won seven, drawn one and lost eight.
Toronto could not break their losing habit last time, going down 2-1 to Philadelphia Union on Thursday in their last MLS outing.
The hosts are in a rut. It’s three games since Toronto last won at home in MLS, and they have won just one of their last ten home games.
The hosts’ defence is a concern, with Toronto conceding in five of their last six home games in the MLS.
The hosts have also been disappointing in front of goal at home this season, scoring only five goals in nine games – an average of 0.56 goals per game.
A 2-1 win for Charlotte looks like a decent correct-score bet. Toronto have lost their last two home games by that scoreline and six of their nine defeats in the MLS have come by the odd goal.
