Bologna can wrap up with a victory
Bologna have already qualified for the Europa League by winning the Coppa Italia and they can finish the season in style with a win at home to Genoa on Saturday. The visitors are out of form and Vincenzo Italiano’s side should take advantage.
They are eighth in the table, five places above Genoa, with a 22-point gap between the two sides. The hosts have 16 wins, 14 draws and seven defeats from their 37 games this season, while Genoa have nine wins, 13 draws and 15 losses.
Genoa could not break their losing habit last time, suffering a narrow 3-2 defeat by Atalanta. They let a half-time lead slip and were priced as 16/5 outsiders to win the game.
Bologna have been impressive defensively at home this season, conceding just 15 goals in 18 Serie A games – an average of 0.83 goals per game.
Genoa, on the other hand, have been disappointing up front this season, scoring just 13 goals in 18 away games – an average of 0.72 goals a game on the road. They have been kept at bay in four of their last six Serie A away matches.
Bologna are unbeaten in their last ten home games in Serie A, while Genoa’s recent away form has been dismal, with no wins in any of their last ten Serie A games on the road.
A 2-0 win for Bologna looks the best correct-score bet. Five of the last seven Serie A clashes between these sides featured fewer than three goals and Genoa are struggling for goals right now.
