Mansfield can get over the line
One win should be enough for Mansfield to remain a League One club for another season but the Stags are limping towards the finish line.
There is a chance they already have enough points to stave off relegation – they head into the Easter fixtures with a five-point buffer to the bottom four – but boss Nigel Clough will be eager for his side to hit the 50-point mark as quickly as possible.
To do that Mansfield will need to perform much better than they have for much of 2025, though. They have won just four times since the turn of the year – and two of them came in the first four days of January.
Millers may struggle for motivation
Luckily for them Friday’s opponents Rotherham are no great shakes themselves and the mid-table Millers have little left to play for this season as they are safe from the drop and cannot reach the playoff places.
It was 1-0 to Mansfield in December’s reverse fixture and, while the Stags are not in the same form as they were four months ago, the extra need for points could lead to a similar outcome.
