Milan enduring an underwhelming campaign
This season looks set to go down as a disappointment for Milan and there is no guarantee they will secure a place in any of the three European competitions this term.
The Rossoneri head into this weekend a whopping 20 points behind leaders and city rivals Inter in ninth spot and their recent road struggles suggest they are no sure thing to gain three points to help their cause from Friday’s visit to Udinese.
Milan have conceded twice in each of their last four Serie A away games and while they may be able to muster a stronger away performance, they still be unable to come out on top.
Udinese searching a return to winning ways
A mid-table position is less of a worry for Udinese, who are two spots behind their illustrious opponents, but they will want to get their house back in order after their own recent disappointments.
They were undefeated in six before they were brought back down to earth by losing their last three games against Verona, Inter and Genoa.
The defeat to Verona ended a run of three straight home wins against Venezia, Empoli and Parma, but it is still difficult to invest in them with a great deal of faith.
A more sensible approach could be to back both teams to score, which has happened in each of Milan’s last nine outings, and a 1-1 draw could be attractive to those looking for a correct-score interest.
