Torino to break out of stalemate spell
Torino welcome Cagliari to the Stadio Olimpico on Friday and Paolo Vanoli’s side will be confident of getting the win over Davide Nicola’s visitors.
Torino are 11th in Serie A, three places above Cagliari, but both teams have lost more games than they’ve won. Cagliari are 14th with five wins and ten defeats, while Torino have claimed the same amount of wins but are two points better off having suffered two fewer losses.
The hosts were happy to claim a point against Fiorentina in last week’s 1-1 draw, coming from a goal down to earn a share of the spoils for a fourth consecutive match.
Cagliari’s claimed two wins and one draw from their last three games and beat Lecce 4-1 last Sunday, but their sole road win in eight Serie A matches came at bottom club Monza.
While Torino are on a run of successive draws, they can end their winless run against Caglari, who have suffered three defeats by a two-goal margin this season. A 3-1 home win looks an attractive correct-score bet.
