Gent secured the first place in the Belgian UEFA Europa Conference League playoffs by winning the opening three matches in the group.
They’ve shared spoils in a 2-2 stalemate against Cercle Bruges last weekend but are still eight points clear at the top of the standings with just two games to go.
Hein Vanhaezebrouck’s men will be looking to finish this campaign unbeaten. Their positive streak could face a big challenge on Saturday afternoon at Het Kuipje where Gent will take on Westerlo in the penultimate round of the competition.
Westerlo will go into this on a high after a demolishing 3-0 victory over Standard Liege seven days ago at this very stadium.
The team’s top scorer Nene Dorgeles starred with a brace on the occasion. Westerlo have scored as many as eight goals in the last three outings and we certainly expect them to find the back of the net here against the attacking-minded Gent.
