Bournemouth moved lock on points with Chelsea at the 12th position of the Premier League standings after a streak of four wins in the last five league rounds.
The Cherries have extended their wonderful spell of form six days ago when they put four goals past the struggling Leeds United to remove all doubts about their top flight status for the next season.
Gary O’Neil can be proud of the job he has accomplished with this group of players since not many experts had predicted the Cherries to stay up in such a tight competition in the bottom half.
As odd as it sounds, Bournemouth will have a nice chance to keep their stellar form going on Saturday afternoon when they host Chelsea in the 35th round of the competition.
The visitors will enter the tie in a completely opposite mood after a run of nine successive winless affairs.
They have lost seven and drawn two in the process and they have suffered their sixth subsequent defeat across competitions on Tuesday evening, falling 3-1 to Arsenal.
To make things worse for Frank Lampard, they have lost each of the last three outings by at least two goals difference.
Chelsea have scored no more than two goals in the last eight outings and there is just nothing to suggest a positive scenario for Lampard and his troops this weekend in Dorset.
