Sampdoria continued their nightmare campaign in the 2022/23 Serie A season with a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Fiorentina on Sunday at Stadio Artemio Franchi.
It was another horrendous performance from Le Samp who allowed the rivals 23 shots, 10 of which went on goal on the occasion. For the sake of comparison, Dejan Stankovic’s troops had just a single shot on target in the 90 minutes of play in Florence.
The Serbian manager offered resignation straight after the game as he is fully aware of the lack of chemistry between him and the players.
Sampdoria are still firmly at the very foot of the league table and only a miracle can prevent the drop to Serie B football with six games left to play and as many as ten points between them and the safe zone.
