Mid-table rivals Reims and Nantes are set to lock horns on Sunday afternoon at Stade Auguste-Delaune II in the 14th round of Ligue 1.
It is very hard to separate these two teams going into the tie. Reims are unbeaten in five successive league affairs but four of these ended without a winner.
Interestingly, the team’s board decided to part ways with Oscar Garcia straight after the goalless draw to PSG almost a month ago.
Belgian coach William Still is Reims’s new interim manager. He has led the team to two draws and a win (a 2-1 success at home against Auxerre) in three games.
Reims are struggling to create chances in the final third these days. They looked poor offensively in the goalless draw at Brest seven days ago. Interestingly, it was their third goalless stalemate in the previous four Ligue 1 Matchdays.
Nantes have also been pretty much mediocre of late. The last year’s Coupe de France winners are struggling to adjust to Thursday/Sunday rhythm.
Les Canaris, however, managed two wins and draws apiece in the last four outings in all competitions.
They did not shine in a 1-1 stalemate to Clermont Foot last Sunday, though, only barely avoiding defeat thanks to a second-half equalizer from Mostafa Mohamed.
