It’s time for another Derby della Capitale as Roma and Lazio are set to lock horns on Sunday afternoon at Stadio Olimpico.
Lazio could not have imagined a worse introduction to the city derby against fierce enemies. They suffered a shocking 1-3 defeat to the likes of Salernitana on the home patch seven days ago.
The loss pushed Maurizio Sarri’s men down to the fifth position in the league standings. They are now one point shy of Roma going into the Derby della Capitale.
Lazio boast one of the best defensive records in the whole league with just eight conceded goals in the opening twelve games.
However, they did allow three goals to Salernitana last time out and we can certainly question the confidence the team’s back line has ahead of such a big clash.
The problems for I Biancocelesti appear at the opposite end since they are without their talisman Ciro Immobile (out through injury).
Can Jose Mourinho’s Roma take advantage of Immobile’s absence and claim the spoils in the derby?
La Lupa did not look great in Monday’s tie against Verona but still managed to get the win thanks to a couple of late goals from substitutes Cristian Volpato and Stephan El Shaarawy.
