Fiorentina and Roma will lock horns in the penultimate Serie A Matchday, hoping to build momentum ahead of the more important European finals.
Both teams managed to reach the last-two phase in their respective continental competitions and the European glory represents a much more important challenge for both outfits than this specific game.
Roma will play their UEFA Europa League final against Sevilla just four days after this clash. Jose Mourinho has generally rested his main stars in the latest league affairs and we do not expect anything different from the Special One in this fixture at Stadio Artemio Franchi.
Roma can still mathematically break into the top four in the Serie A ladder after the latest Juventus’ points’ deduction. However, Mourinho has clearly prioritized the Europa League glory and he will stick to it without any doubts.
The congested schedule will also force Vincenzo Italiano to rest some of his key figures. Fiorentina were in action on Wednesday evening in the Coppa Italia final against Inter Milan.
They will also play the UEFA Europa Conference League final against West Ham on June 7th.
Italiano rested his captain (Biraghi), top scorer (Cabral), and arguably best player (Amrabat) last weekend in a 1-1 draw with Torino. We expect him to do the same here against La Lupa.
