Le Samp have had a dreadful campaign in this term of Serie A and will be forced to play in the second division next year.
To make things worse, their bitter city rivals Genoa have secured the promotion and the immediate return to the elite class.
Le Samp will play their last home match in Serie A for at least a year on Friday evening when they open Gameweek No 37 against Sassuolo.
The team led by Dejan Stankovic suffered yet another painful defeat last Saturday when they fell 5-1 at the hands of AC Milan.
They are winless in nine straight league matches and they’ll go into this off the back of four losses and a draw in the last five affairs in the process.
