Bayer Leverkusen continued their strong run of form on Sunday afternoon when they dispatched Werder Bremen 2-3 away at Weserstadion.
Wing-back Jeremie Frimpong produced an amazing all-round display. He ended the game with a goal and an assist.
Bayer now have four wins and a draw in the previous six outings across competitions and they will go into Thursday’s second leg of their Europa League round of 16 tie against Hungarian champions Ferencvaros in the highest of spirits.
Leverkusen’s positive streak includes a 2-0 victory over the Hungarians last Thursday at BayArena.
Kerem Demirbay and Edmond Tapsoba made the difference in a match in which we did not see too many clear-cut openings for either side.
